Space is still available to become a Mentee in the Faculty Mentor Program. If you are interested in the program, please complete an interest form or contact Juliette Duke at jduke@calpoly.edu. The Faculty Mentor program is designed to connect students and faculty who share similar interests whether they be academic, professional, or personal in nature. The purpose is to promote quality faculty and student interaction that benefits both the mentor and mentee. Mentoring in the program can occur on a one-on-one basis or in a group setting. The type of mentoring received is determined by the faculty and student.

How to become involved in the Faculty Mentor Program:
- Attend an Information Session
- Complete an interest form

- Meet with your Faculty Mentor on a regular basis
- Attend the End of the Year Reception
Your Role as a Mentee:
- Attend scheduled meetings or events planned with your Faculty Mentor
- Discuss your expectations of the mentoring program with your mentor
- Suggest activities that you and your mentor may participate in
- Be a resource to your mentor as needed
Role of the Mentor:
- Share research and projects with mentee
- Provide personal assistance
- Motivate students to achieve academic excellence
- Serve as a resource and referral person for mentee
- Encourage, advise, and provide practical career information
- Monitor academic progress and provide feedback
- Serve as a role model, confidant, and friend
